For the first time in the recent history of Polish judiciary, so many judges have signed an appeal in defense of fundamental principles and values. The Polish judges call on the government and the president of the Supreme Court to implement the CJEU’s rulings.
The appeal is signed by judges from large and small courts; by judges from district, county, appeal, provincial administrative courts and the Supreme Court. Signatures are still being collected. The appeal has already been signed by approx. 20 percent of all Polish judges, because there are about 10,000 common court judges in Poland, plus several hundred judges of provincial administrative courts, the Supreme Administrative Court, and the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court judges will sign the appeal with their list. The largest association of Polish judges, Iustitia, will continue to collect signatures until Wednesday, 29 July.
