Martha Alexander
About the Author
(1920- ) Martha Alexander has written and illustrated a host of books for children with a fanciful soft touch that reminds many of the precarious and magical world of childhood. She lives in Hawaii.
Loganberry Legacy
These are charming books featuring Alexander's soft pencil and watercolor illustrations and quirky sense of humor that remembers both the delights and frustrations of childhood. It doesn't surprise me that kids respond to them or that grown-ups remember them in that nostalgic. warm place in their hearts. Alexander's first book was published in 1966, and she's still writing!

ABOUT
I am a freelance journalist, copywriter and TV story producer, but my CV is rather a muddled affair.
I started as a junior reporter on local papers, careering around a sleepy North Yorkshire market town in a rusting Nissan Sunny (now a classic car, since you ask), and writing news stories about disputes over parking spaces outside Morrison's and suspected foul play at the annual WI jam-making competition. My first big feature was about a man who kept racing pigeons in his garden but loved them too much to actually let them take part in any actual competitions. But no matter what the subject, I had a natural curiosity teamed with a compulsion to tell the best story I possibly could.
That approach still stands and since then, I have written both news and features for national newspapers, consumer magazines and websites including The Telegraph, Guardian, Daily Mail and AskMen covering all sorts of things - fine art, travel, friendship, holidays, pregnancy, parenthood and British history. I have even interviewed some of my heroes, including Tracey Emin and William
