Johannes Brahms was a German composer and pianist. Born in Hamburg into a Lutheran family, Brahms spent much of his professional life in Vienna, Austria. I am in the mood to start listening to Shostakovich's string quartets.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for artists performing these
works?

(I have listened a great deal to his symphonies, conducted by Haitink,
which I really like a lot.)
