After two years of flying under the radar, the former MLA for Fort Richmond and Minister of Family Services has resurfaced as the CEO for Macdonald Youth Services.

Kerri Irvin-Ross, who served in the provincial government for 13 years, was announced as the chief executive officer for the River-Osborne based youth and family services agency on March 29. She is taking over leadership of the organization from Erma Chapman, who retired at the end of March after 17 years with Macdonald Youth Services.

Irvin-Ross, who ran for re-election in 2014 but lost her seat to Sarah Guillemard in Fort Richmond, said it took some time to get back into a routine outside of public office.

“I needed time emotionally, spiritually, and physically to regroup,” she said. “In that process I got back to the gym and ended up looking after myself far better.”

Hon. Kerri Irvin-Ross MLA – Fort Richmond

Dear God, I pray for Kerri Irvin-Ross and the work she does with the
families in our community. We recognize all the work she does in our schools
and daycare centres and with seniors groups. Whether she’s working with the
young or the elderly, we ask that you give her wisdom and knowledge to know
what tasks she needs to prioritize. Direct
her in how she helps care for our children and youth with implementing
programs at different levels. We ask that you guide her decisions, especially
as she works with at-risk youth and crime prevention. Thank you for her heart
for those in need and the time she gives to those you love. Please have the
right people come alongside her and bless her as she accomplishes the things
that are important to you in our society. Thank you for the people you have
set in the paths of her care and help them to feel taken care of and loved.
In Jesus name.
