Kilpatrick, who was one of the most notable representatives of progressive philosophy of education together with Dewey although he was not more familiar than Dewey as his successor in Turkey, as well as analyzing the reflections of these philosophy and principles in our day. Having developed towards the late 19th century, progressive philosophy of education has become influential primarily in the USA as well as in many European countries since the early 20th century. Although this philosophy of education had been dominant in some periods in the USA during the period until 1957,its influence had faded after 1957 due to the Cold War.
