Happily ever after: Inside the wedding of Lindley Mayer and Gordon Gulledge
When Lindley Mayer and Gordon Gulledge met as students at J.L. Mann High School, they spent a lot of time having lunch together in her car, parked in an appropriately fashionably painted parking space.
After high school, their paths took them to separate sides of the country, but even that didn’t keep them apart. Nine years later, Gordon proposed in that still painted parking spot, surrounded by beautiful luminaries, favorite music and a lot of unforgettable memories.
Of course, this was only the beginning of the eventual wedding for the couple who love “amazing food and awesome music” along with the family that is so important to them both.
“I had always dreamed of a fairytale day that really showcased our story, what brought us together and how our families are so instrumental in who we are today,” Mayer says. “We were both born and raised in the South, and I wanted to have those traditional romantic Southern twists but a modern touch as well. Mayer adds 'business owner' to long dance resume
MAULDIN – Members of a team often hear coaches preach about having a strong work ethic. For the young women on the Mauldin High School dance team, spoken words aren't needed. They only have to look at their choreographer's resume for inspiration.
Lindley Mayer is in her third year of instructing Mauldin's dance team. It's another career she can put on a list that includes acting, dancing, modeling and heading a non-profit organization for disabled youth that she founded 10 years ago.
"I've always wanted to stay busy," Mayer said. "My acting and spokesmodel careers are super important, but making sure these girls are ready and look the best that they can is super important too.
"What's really rewarding for me is to see the girls that I train go on and pursue their dreams because they've seen that it can happen with me."
Mayer recently fulfilled a lifetime goal when she added business owner to her resume. Mayer owns the SHOCK Dance Center in Mauldin, which held a grand reopening ribbon-cutting celebration in August.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindley Mayer. They and their team shared their story with us below:
In 2005, our owner and creator served as Miss South Carolina Teen 2005. During her year, she realized how useful a custom crown box would be. Since then, the design and dream to create this product has become a reality. With the help of her creative and talented mom, they designed what is now the original Crown Couture Collection Crown Purse. For five years, they perfected the design, and the boxes are made right here in our hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, within the family business. Each purse is handcrafted from clear and colored panels and quality metal hardware. It is then customized with a beautiful beaded handle, personalized nameplate, mirror for touch-ups on the go, and a fabric pillow to protect a titleholder’s most treasured crown. The purses are roomy enough to hold a sash, autograph cards, pen, and lipstick and help the ladies make their appearances in style while keeping their crowns safe and in clear view. At home, it will double as a display case
